What it does...
Kills viruses and bacteria

Big Impression.

What it says...
We care about our patients

Being in the medical field, you obviously care about people. You spend a lot of time and money behind the scenes protecting your patients. Most of that effort goes unseen and unappreciated. This investment is different.  Not only it is a proven method to kill airborne pathogens, it speaks volumes to your patients.

It says...

We care about reducing germs at our facility.
We take HAIs and SSIs seriously.
We are willing to invest in our patients well-being.
We are leaders and innovators in our field.

Thousands of doctors are currently using UV Germicidal Units in exam rooms, waiting rooms, infusion or dialysis areas, ORs and Post-Op rooms. Feedback shows that their patients notice and appreciate this extra step toward killing microorganisms.
It increases patient confidence and results in higher retention and referral rates.
Small signs are included with all UV Light purchases to explain what the units are and how they benefit patient health.

Excellent ROI

If you're in the healthcare industry, you know all too well about how HAIs effect the bottom-line. A 12-month hospital case study from 2018 showed UVC light to be effective at lowering HAIs 19.2% with a direct cost savings of $1.2 million. The conclusion? "The UV-C intervention significantly reduced HAIs in a community hospital setting and substantially reduced the hospital’s financial burden of HAIs without adversely impacting the hospital admissions process. A robust adjunct UV-C disinfection intervention may be a viable strategy to reduce endemic HAIs and associated costs." It just makes good scientific and financial sense to use this affordable, safe and proven disinfection method to reduce infections. The high ROI that UVC lights provide is not just short-term (see EXAMPLE). Reducing infections will save money year after year. Of course, UVC disinfection units require an initial investment, but the cost is very low compared to other healthcare technologies. Wall and ceiling mounted units install as easily as fluorescent light fixtures. The units are also very inexpensive to maintain, both in cost and labor. Most units simply require a bulb change every 2 years.

Proven Safe and Effective

Case studies provide the answers to two important questions. Are UVC units safe? Are UVC units effective at reducing pathogens? Consider the following:
Safety of Upper-Room Ultraviolet Germicidal Air Disinfection for Room Occupants: Results from the Tuberculosis Ultraviolet Shelter Study concludes: "TUSS demonstrates that current upper-room UVGI technologies, with proper engineering, installation, and maintenance, can be placed safely in a wide range of indoor spaces, even in buildings as diverse as homeless shelters. During TUSS, accidental UV overexposure, the main cause of reported UV injury, was reported only once despite thousands of person-hours of use."
The Characterization of Upper-Room Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation in Inactivating Airborne Microorganisms concludes: "We have found that upperroom UVGI can significantly reduce the concentration of airborne microorganisms (S. marcescens and BCG) aerosolized in a saliva simulant in a typical mechanically ventilated hospital isolation room."

How Does It Work?

The Upper-Air units are mounted at a height of 7 or 8 feet on the wall. Louvers on the units direct the UV light upward. This creates a zone of UV light at the top portion of the room, above the occupants. Natural convection, air from HVAC vents and human movement cause the air in the room to circulate. As air enters the disinfection zone, it is exposed to the UV light rays. This inactivates microorganisms in the air.

With UV-C Lights...You Really Do
GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Our UV-C lights are not cheap either in price or quality. They are commercial-grade products that are used in industrial, commercial and healthcare applications. Usually available only through private channels, we are pleased to make them available online. But be forewarned...we do not compete in price with imported knockoffs that can be purchased on marketplace sites for $100.00. These products are more like toys than the professional UV-C light fixtures that we sell. If you've come to this site, you are probably a savvy purchaser that already knows this. But, below are some specific reasons why our products stand out from the pack.
Our UV-C lights are not cheap and we are proud of that!
- UV Light Solutions

Is UV-C Light Safe?

Humans should avoid prolonged direct exposure to UV-C light. Our products are mounted at least 7 feet high so occupants do not come in contact with the light field. Direct exposure results in temporary skin redness and eye irritation.  Unlike some UV-C lights, our lights DO NOT produce ozone, a gas that is harmful to humans. Avoid touching UV-C bulbs without gloves as the oil from our skin can cause a "hot spot" and reduce the bulb's lifespan.

UV or UV-C?

Although often used interchangeably, UV light and UV-C light have different definitions. Ultraviolet light falls in the electromagnetic spectrum between visible light and X-rays with a wavelength from 10 nm to 400 nm. The sun emits three different types of UV light: UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C. UV-C light (200-280 nm) has the shortest wavelength and the highest energy. It is powerful enough to "kill" viruses and bacteria. So, UV is a broad term whereas UV-C is a specific germicidal type of UV light.  We generally use the term "UV-C light" on this website but use the more common "UV light" in our marketing and advertising.

Does UV-C Light "Kill" Germs?

For simplicity sake, UV-C light is often referred to as "killing" or "destroying" viruses and bacteria. Like most others in the UV light industry, we use these words in our advertising and marketing. However, to be more specific and accurate, UV-C light deactivates germs by disrupting the DNA in these microbes which prevents them from reproducing and renders them harmless. UV-C light is naturally filtered out by the ozone layer and does not reach the earth's surface so microorganisms have no defense against it.
