These UVC germicidal ceiling mounted fixtures can be installed during construction or retrofitted afterward. Used mainly in applications where an unoccupied area needs to be disinfected regularly like an OR, lab or clean room.
They can also be used for surface and wound site disinfection before, during, and after surgical procedures, making them a very smart choice for operating room disinfection.
- Lowered intensity during occupied orthopedic procedures
- Full power during unoccupied disinfection cycles before and after procedures
- Shatterproof bulbs
The advantage of using ceiling mounted UVC fixtures, rather than a mobile device, is that the fixtures can be spaced out to create a more consistent pattern of energy - more angles provides better coverage.
A typical OR installation will have 8-10 ceiling mounted fixtures as follows:
- Four (4) fixtures mounted above the table: two parallel to the sides & two parallel to the head and foot
- Remaining fixtures evenly spaced around the Operating Room for consistent energy distribution
The goal of this configuration is to lay down an even energy footprint that floods the room with UVC disinfection light and minimizes any shadowed areas. Mobile units currently on the market are limited in their energy footprint, and they also require multiple positions in order to have a similar impact.
These fixtures can be purchased separately or included as part of our Operating Room Disinfection package. This package includes a Touchscreen Controller that allows the user to control disinfection cycles and lamp intensity from outside the treated room. Please contact us for more details.
