Is UV-C Light Safe?
Humans and pets should avoid prolonged direct exposure to UV-C light. Direct exposure results in temporary skin redness and eye irritation. Unlike some UV-C lights, our lights DO NOT produce ozone, a gas that is harmful to humans and pets. Avoid touching UV-C bulbs as the oil from our skin can cause a "hot spot" and reduce the bulb's lifespan.

UV or UV-C?
Although often used interchangeably, UV light and UV-C light have different definitions. Ultraviolet (or UV) light falls in the electromagnetic spectrum between visible light and X-rays with a wavelength from 10 nm to 400 nm. There are four different types of UV light: UV-V, UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C. UV-C light (200-280 nm) has the shortest wavelength and the highest energy.  So, UV is a broad term whereas UV-C is a specific type of UV light.
